Four years ago I asked for your trust. I promised to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and to amplify community voices.

I said I would....

  • Plan for, and manage cautious growth, while retaining Yountville’s charm

  • Continue to tighten the social fabric between residents at Town and at the Veterans Home

  • Foster and encourage new business, while encouraging existing business partnerships

  • Support tourism that sustains our Town while retaining our small town character and charm

  • Work positively alongside my fellow Council members to re-envision possibilities

.... and I have I kept my promises. Every WORD!

By working together with the Council and listening to the community, Yountville remains quaint and prosperous with sound financials.

Together we fulfilled a major goal of purchasing the former elementary school site. The site is Yountille's asset. We now need to work with business stakeholders and the community to build affordable and workforce housing, as mandated by the state. Not building will put the town at risk for consequences from the state.

We re-envisioned partnerships to bring the Town Yountville Fit, the Farm Stand and Farm Stand Garden, The Coop, Schmitt Hall, the Locals Lounge, and the finally, the Dog park! At my urging, we even re-landscaped Town Hall to bring life and beauty back, and create a new and welcoming Civic Heart in Yountville.

Welcome Neighbors,

JOIN ME IN PUTTING COMMUNITY FIRST!

Everyone should have a say in our town's future.

Yountville continues to grow and change.  Let's manage that process carefully and thoughtfully.

Residents make Yountville special. Businesses make it world-famous. Let's strike a balance between both!

Respecting the natural beauty and charm of our

town is high on my list. I will work to protect it.

Yountville is no stranger to disaster. Let's make

sure we're as prepared as we can be to mitigate

the threat of wild land fires coupled with Diablo winds, and that we know our systems designed to control flooding are working and effective.

Town Council needs to work as a team and listen to all segments of the community. Transparency happens when we ask questions and talk at the Dias. The public deserves to hear us talking together - whether we are agreeing on an item, or not.

When 74% of our residents voted for Measure S they voted for workforce housing. Let's work TOGETHER through planning, zoning, and permitting in an open and honest fashion.

We need to shepherd business growth that is not only for our visitors, but also for our residents. Let's work with business owners to ensure they're putting our town's needs first.

We value the town's dedication to parks, both in quaint neighborhoods and in the more trafficked areas, and we want to see them continue to be retained and maintained with high standards.

Emergency preparation and planning has been a passion of mine. We need to be prepared for the next disaster with known plans for communication and evacuation.

ABOUT ME

  • Created strong County-wide connections, serving on boards: Napa County Commission on Aging, NV Tourism Improvement District, NV Tourism Corp.

  • Served as NVTA Director and YV Arts Commissioner

  • Partner with Community Action Napa Valley’s Food Bank donation program, bringing a donation barrel to the Community Center to address food insecurity

  • Collaborate annually with Cal Fire and Fire Station 12 to enhance their holiday “Toys-for-Tots”event

  • Founded the Holiday Artisan Market - now a two-day event offering holiday shopping for the community

  • Initiated the idea of naming the Steve Rogers Gallery

  • I brought forward the plan to redo the landscaping at Town Hall. What was on the grounds was thorny, tired and dying. It is now a place where residents and visitors can now enjoy.

I'm a Napa Valley native who's resided in Yountville for more than 8 years.

My professional history spans a number of industries, experience that has served me well over four years on the Town Council and shapes how I approach the fiscal decisions facing Yountville today.

A combined decade in destination management and luxury resort sales gave me a firsthand understanding of how occupancy tax revenue is generated — and how it can best be reinvested to benefit local residents.

In Marin County, where I resided for 12 years, I planned events for Ferrari San Francisco, and I planned world wide conferences and executive briefings at Autodesk.  I've also worked in finance, where I had annual education and certification requirements surrounding ethics.

In common - all my roles have required resourcefulness, integrity, intelligence, diplomacy, and follow-through — the qualities I believe make an effective council member.

Outside of work my  life has  been centered around my family and music. I've been a professional singer since the age of 18. These days I 'give back', regularly singing for seniors who have given so much to my generation. You can find me singing at the Veterans Home, The Meadows, Aegis Living, and Calligraphy, and sometimes sitting in with bands at Music in the Park!

Speaking of giving back, my husband, "Big John" Cant has been the assistant coach and "ringer", on the Mixed Nutts softball team at the Veterans' Home for the past four years. He really has loved the experience of meeting veterans on the ball field, and helping them feel good about their game!

We reside in Rancho de Napa, with our 17 year old dog Willy, a Hospitality Hound, and two Maine Coon cats who rule the roost.
